Author: Malcolm Dixelius, Christian Schulz

Length: 52'

Ingvar Kamprad is an eccentric. Only an eccentric would dream up the idea of using his personal initials as a company name: Ingvar Kamprad from Elmtaryd farm in Agunnaryd. That happened over sixty years ago when Kamprad was just 17 years old. Meanwhile IKEA has been brightening up half the globe with its furniture, and Kamprad is more than Sweden's richest citizen - his home furnishing empire is now the biggest in the world, and he controls a fortune as big as Bill Gates'. The IKEA Group has a global annual turnover of 11.3 billion euros, and the Kamprad family share is a cool 340 million euros. Anyone who has accompanied Ingvar Kamprad on an inspection tour of one of his stores will understand how the man became a billionaire. He does without personal office space, always uses the cheapest parking space and insists on flying economy. For the first time this documentary provides a glimpse behind the scenes.
